Guided Plant Walks

Is that plant dead?

Ebenopsis confine

What is that gray plant?

Jatropha cinerea

If you've ever had questions like these, then my plant walks are just what you need to answer them. Come and explore the various habitats in and around Mulegé and Punta Chivato on a guided plant walk. Walks last about 1.5-2 hours and are not strenuous, though the ground may be uneven. Think of it as walking through a botanical garden, which the desert most certainly is.

What to bring:

  • wear sturdy shoes (closed-toe highly recommended)
  • water bottle
  • camera (macro feature a bonus)
  • notebook and pencil
  • sunscreen and hat
  • bug repellant (optional)

Areas that we may cover:

Check with us for upcoming walks.

We will generally meet at a central point and decide where to go from there, either on foot or a short drive (carpooling recommended). Some trips will meet at other sites such as Playa Santispac, or at Punta Chivato. Contact us for upcoming Friday walks in late 2014.

Please contact us for more details, or if you'd like to arrange a special trip for your group.
